Accountant (CPA) - Remote, Contract-to-Full-Time Opportunity

Are you a skilled CPA with a passion for the music and merchandising industries? We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team! In this role, you'll play a vital part in preparing and analyzing financial records, supporting both our company and our clients on a monthly and quarterly basis. This position starts as a contract with the potential to grow into a formal part-time, and eventually full-time, role as our client base expands over the next year.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and payroll accounts, both internally and for our clients
Develop and analyze reports for business operations and budgets
Assist with vendor payments by reviewing and being cc'd on relevant communications
Generate monthly balance sheets for the company
Prepare monthly revenue and expense reports for clients
Conduct audits to ensure compliance with industry standards
Identify and implement new processes to enhance financial efficiency
Present analyses and findings to management
What We're Looking For:

Proven experience in accounting, ideally within the music or merchandising industries
Understanding and experience with royalty accounting
Background in accounts receivable, including accounting and reporting
Familiarity with Shopify reports and e-commerce finance practices
Strong foundation in GAAP principles
Proficiency with modern accounting software and reporting tools
Highly detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
