Job Description

Imagine360 is seeking an Associate Stop Loss Underwriter to join the team! The key responsibility for this role requires a foundational understanding of risk assessment, including gathering, inspecting, and analyzing relevant data to process and issue accurate and timely proposals utilizing various underwriting tools.

Position Location: 100% remote

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prepare and deliver new business and/or existing business proposals accurate and timely utilizing underwriting tools, systems, and reference materials.
• Evaluates each prospect or client risk factors against actuarial manuals and calculating rates and factors accordingly.
• Basic understanding of the rate and/or administrative fee development process, pricing components, and application of underwriting and/or accounting policies.
• Understand the basics of financial arrangements and their implications.
• Review work with mentor/manager and respond to requests for pricing based on financial analysis, underwriting principals, and business strategy.
• Escalate underwriting exceptions to the appropriate level for review.
• Adhere to underwriting guidelines: Familiarize themselves with company policies and industry regulations.
• Working understanding of problem solving and decision-making skills
• Assist with projects or participate in work groups as assigned.
• Collaborates with others and cross-departmentally to improve or streamline procedures.

Required Experience/Education:

• Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, risk management or related field.

• Demonstrated analytical and independent thinking skills.
• Knowledge of insurance, rating, and underwriting concepts
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Ability to use underwriting software tools and other company applications.
• 1+ years of underwriting experience.
• Medical and Stop Loss underwriting experience for a risk-taking organization strongly preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of computers and software including but not limited to Microsoft Office products.
• Strong written and oral communication skills
