Our client, a family-oriented organization, located North of Nashville; is in need of a
Chief Lending Officer . Their ideal candidate will possess a strong acumen for Banking and leading a small organization.
Chief Lending Officer Responsibilities: - Collaborate with executive leadership to create and implement the strategic plan, including growth and lending goals
- Partner with regional leadership to develop strategies for building strong relationships with financial institutions, government entities, and community leaders to drive sustainable growth in loans and related services
- Work with the Chief Credit Officer to establish risk appetite and underwriting strategies aligned with the strategic plan
- Identify business development opportunities and design communications strategies with referral partners and potential clients, leveraging regional office networks to achieve lending and educational objectives
- Ensure advisory and educational services are integrated into regional office activities and accessible to both loan and education clients
- Collaborate with senior management and marketing teams to enhance outreach efforts and elevate the organization’s message through participation in seminars, meetings, and conferences
- Foster strong interdepartmental relationships to build a cohesive team that delivers a high-quality regional loan portfolio supported by sound financial analysis and appropriate collateral
- Recruit, train, mentor, and retain high-performing lenders across all product lines, focusing on underserved markets and promoting entrepreneurial education
- Oversee the execution of grant compliance activities and related reporting requirements through regional leadership
- Perform other duties as assigned
Chief Lending Officer Requirements: - Strong customer service skills for working with clients, partners, stakeholders, and team members
- Proven leadership and relationship management capabilities, with an emphasis on negotiation and consensus building
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and multiple computer systems and applications
- Comprehensive knowledge of small business and commercial loan documentation
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels and foster a team-oriented environment
- Self-reliant, capable of working independently, with strong tactical and analytical thinking skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is required
- A minimum of 10 years of commercial lending experience, including knowledge of challenges faced by underserved borrowers and managing lending teams
- Experience resolving complex customer issues and excelling in a fast-paced, high-demand environment with multiple priorities
