Responsibilities:

- As a DevOps Engineer at GDIT, I will deliver simple solutions to complex problems, tailoring cutting-edge solutions to meet the unique requirements of our clients. In this role, my priority will be enhancing the end-user experience as I support application development and oversee the systems’ reliability and efficiency. Specifically, I will:
- Automate the installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services.
- Manage system tuning and guide software releases for new features.
- Perform administrative operations of server hardware and software.
- Ensure system security while troubleshooting system-related issues.
- Stay current on technological developments and recommend future projects to management.
- Provide expertise in enhancing operating systems through software programs and applications.

What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Required Skills:
- 5 years of IT and/or software experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- DOD 8570 IAT Level II required (Level III preferred).
- Experience with Kubernetes, and participation in agile development teams.
- In-depth understanding of DevOps methodologies.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration tools such as Concourse, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity.
- Experience in VMware vSphere/ESXi/NSX-T and networking technologies (e.g., load balancing, DNS, SSL, firewalls).
- Proficient in using Git and release management processes.
- Experience supporting production systems through Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to guide less experienced engineers.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

- Desired Skills:
- Experience in AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, OpenStack.
- Knowledge of automation/orchestration tools like Chef, Ansible, BOSH.
- Familiarity with platform-as-a-service products.
- Understanding of DNS, NTP, SAML, OAuth 2, Active Directory.
- Experience with systems monitoring and analytics tools.
- Background in Windows deployment and database management (e.g., MySQL).

- Security Clearance Level: Active Secret clearance required to start and must be able to obtain TS/SCI.

- Location: On Site at Fort Liberty, NC.
- Citizenship Required: US Citizenship Required.
