Job Title: Cloud Engineer

Job Description:
Provision and manage GCP infrastructure, including Shared VPCs and Google Compute Engine (GCE) instances.
Execute lift-and-shift migrations of virtual machines from Azure to GCP using migration tools such as Migrate for Compute.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform to automate provisioning and ensure scalability.
Configure monitoring and disaster recovery (DR) systems to maintain < 1% unplanned downtime and a 1-hour Recovery Time Objective (RTO) for Tier-1 applications.
Collaborate with the Cloud Architect to ensure infrastructure meets all security, compliance, and scalability standards.
Gather and document detailed application migration requirements to support planning and execution.
Participate in daily coordination meetings and turnover sessions with the US-based team, beginning with full overlap in PST hours and gradually shifting to India hours.
Not In Scope:
Application code development.
Database schema modifications.
Independent or unsupervised changes during active change windows.
Required Qualifications:
5 7 years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure engineering (GCP, Azure, or multi-cloud environments).
Proven expertise in Azure-to-GCP VM migrations and Terraform-based IaC implementations.
Strong understanding of networking, compute, storage, IAM, and security principles in cloud environments.
Experience with disaster recovery planning and system monitoring.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across distributed teams and time zones.
Preferred Qualifications:
Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect or equivalent certification.
Experience in large-scale, multi-workload migration projects.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automation frameworks.
