We’re partnering with an independent creative agency known for its bold approach to branding, design, and advertising. With a focus on helping mission-driven and future-focused companies stand out, this agency combines strategy and storytelling to create meaningful, culturally relevant work. They’re deeply collaborative, idea-led, and committed to delivering creative that drives both connection and business results.

They’re looking for a Creative Director, Copy to lead across a dynamic portfolio of clients, particularly in the B2B and tech space. This role is hybrid, based in San Diego, CA, with in-office collaboration expected one day per week. You’ll shape the creative direction, mentor a growing team, and contribute directly to campaigns that push creative boundaries and deliver strategic impact.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee concept development, brand storytelling, and campaign direction
  • Mentor, inspire, and grow a high-performing creative team
  • Translate business goals into bold, effective creative strategies
  • Lead client presentations, new business pitches, and creative reviews
  • Provide consistent creative guidance and feedback to internal teams
  • Collaborate across design, strategy, and account management to ensure alignment

What We’re Looking For:

  • 7+ years in creative leadership at an agency, including 3+ years working with B2B clients
  • 5+ years of team management experience
  • Strong portfolio showcasing strategic copywriting and campaign work
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills—able to clearly articulate ideas and creative rationale to clients and internal stakeholders
  • A collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves approach with a calm-under-pressure demeanor
  • Knowledge of Figma is a plus

Work Requirements:

  • Must be located within one hour of San Diego, CA
  • Hybrid schedule with 1+ day per week in-office
  • Occasional travel may be required (domestic and international)

Logistics:

  • Location: Hybrid – San Diego, CA (in-office 1x/week)
  • Salary: $165,000 – $170,000/year + Benefits outlined below
  • Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation & Benefits Disclosure:

The compensation for this position will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and market conditions in the San Diego area. This is a full-time, direct hire position. The selected candidate will be eligible for a competitive and comprehensive benefits package that includes:

Pay Range: $165,000 - $170,000

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. Our full-time consultants have access to benefits including medical, dental, vision and 401K contributions as well as any other PTO, sick leave, and other benefits mandated by appliable state or localities where you reside or work.
