Job Description

St. Rose of Lima School is looking for a music teacher who will be responsible for designing and implementing a music education program for students in grades PK-6. The music teacher must foster a love of music, develop musical skills, and promote creativity and self-expression through a variety of musical activities. Key Responsibilities Curriculum Development: Develop and implement age-appropriate music curriculum aligned with district standards and state guidelines. Plan and organize lessons that integrate various musical elements such as rhythm, melody, harmony, and form. Instruction: Teach music concepts, techniques, and skills using a variety of instructional methods, including singing, playing instruments, and listening Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement. Assessment: Assess student progress and achievement through formal and informal assessments Provide feedback and support to help students improve their musical abilities. Music Programs: Organize and direct school music programs that include chorus for grades 3-6 as well as Christmas and Spring concerts including all grade levels Professional Development: Stay up-to-date on current trends and best practices in music education. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in music education or a related field Valid teaching license or certification Strong musical skills, including singing, playing instruments, and reading music Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Passion for teaching and a love of music Additional Skills Ability to collaborate with colleagues and parents Working Environment St. Rose of Lima Elementary School is a Catholic school with students enrolled in grades PK3-grade 6.
