The Stefani Restaurant Group is launching Tavern on Rush this Summer.  We are hiring an experienced Executive Sous Chef. This position requires a proactive leader with strong organizational skills, a passion for the hospitality industry, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Tavern on Rush will feature 2 floors of upscale steakhouse dining, an energetic bar, an expansive patio, and private dining in addition to providing room service to the Thompson Hotel. Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities:  • Staff levels according to budgets  • Conduct clean and accurate inventories with a solid understanding of COGs  • Working kitchen systems – line checks, waste logs, requisitions, etc. • Manage & train sous chefs and hourly boh staff  • Write and cost out recipes efficiently • Must possess a Valid City of Chicago Certified Sanitation Manger (blue certification), and allergen certification • Attend hotel/restaurant BEO meetings  • Managing hotel and customer relations • Possess the drive to take what we have and find ways to improve and grow  • Understanding our profit goals and keeping others focused  • Run operations in the absence of Exec Chef  Qualifications: Ideal Experience: • Must have extensive high-volume experience. Important to see decent tenure at a previous or current job • Background experience in Italian American steakhouse concepts, banquet execution, highly organized, and a team player • Experience with kitchen systems, ordering, and keeping par levels  • Manage staff according to company policy and be able to coach staff in a positive way • Bring a creative approach to the table when working on menu content  • Experience with restaurant openings is a plus  • Serving quality products consistently at a high level • Ability to always find ways to improve  • 3-5 years in a similar position  • Salary based on experience About Company: Tavern on Rush will be returning to Chicago's Gold Coast at 1015 N. Rush. Tavern on Rush, located within the Thompson Hotel, will be a lively Steak and Seafood restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner 7 days a week.
