Job Description

Rapyuta Robotics is an ETH Zurich startup headquartered in Tokyo and operates with a vision to become the global leader in making robots more accessible. We lead the pick-assist AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robots) market in Japan and are backed by Goldman Sachs, Sony and Yaskawa as investors.

We are seeking a Head of Corporate Services to join our US subsidiary in Chicago. This role will oversee all corporate functions, ensuring smooth and efficient operations while aligning with our global strategy. 

Responsibilities

  1. Financial Management: Oversee financial operations in the US subsidiary and collaborate with the CFO in Tokyo to ensure financial alignment and reporting. 
  2. Legal and Compliance: Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations. Manage contracts, legal documentation, and liaise with external legal advisors as needed. 
  3. Administrative Operations: Manage administrative functions, including office management, procurement, and general administrative support.
  4. People Operations: Oversee talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
  5. Team Leadership: Lead and manage the US corporate services team which will be split across Chicago and Chennai, India. Mentor and develop team members to build a high-performing and cohesive team.
  6. Foster a culture of collaboration and shared goals across locations. 

Requirements

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or Finance or Accounting 
  2. Experience: 7-10 years of experience in corporate services, finance, or administrative roles.
  3. Skills: Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and financial analysis. Excellent legal and compliance acumen, with experience managing contracts and legal documentation. 
  4. Startup Mindset: Demonstrates a frugal approach, willing to take calculated risks, and prioritizes speed and agility in decision-making and execution. 
  5. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  6. Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to make data-driven decisions and manage cost-effective operations. 
  7. This role requires working from the office; remote work is allowed only in exceptional cases approved by the reporting manager (CFO).
