Job Description

 Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Internet/Web Engineer, Advanced for our client located in Tallahassee, FL .

This position is onsite in Tallahassee, FL, and requires in-person availability starting day 1. 

Job Overview:

  • The resource (Internet/Web Engineer) will be responsible for operational duties; gather; analyze and document stakeholder, technical and functional requirements; assist with the optimization and automation of the existing Microsoft Azure environment and shall perform, at a minimum, the tasks and/or activities described below:
  • a. Work with the Department’s Contract Manager to serve as the primary point of contact to ensure that start-up activities are completed within fourteen (14) days prior to the performance of services. Start-up activities include Department’s fingerprint background check and online information security training security requirements;
  • b. Work with all stakeholders to identify system needs and gather business and functional requirements;
  • c. Translate stakeholder requirements into technical and functional specifications for approval, development, testing and code review purposes;
  • d. Develop proof of concepts, mockups and other documents for task and/or activity.
  • e. Prepare and complete stakeholder requests for the creation, modification or enhancement of new or existing infrastructure;
  • f. Assist, troubleshoot, and validate application deployments as assigned by the Department’s Contract Manager;
  • g. Research and evaluate options to help identify ways to improve efficiency, increase security and reduce system issues, errors or data anomalies;
  • h. Write and maintain infrastructure documentation (specifications, process flow, etc.) as assigned by the Contract Manager;
  • i. Assist with troubleshooting and resolving incidents and service requests;
  • j. Provide infrastructure knowledge, mentoring and guidance to Department staff in infrastructure optimization, automation and related issues as assigned by the Department’s Contract Manager;
  • k. Provide infrastructure optimization and Mentoring to the Department’s staff;
    • a. Attend and participate in all assigned meetings;
    • b. Attend and complete Department-required training;
  • l. Liaison with project teams, technical and business staff;
  • m. Provide hands-on leadership for complex projects; and
  • n. On a weekly basis, complete a Status Report that includes specific tasks handled by both the Project Manager and Project Team(s), and complete a Project Timesheet.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a technical team lead for enterprise application infrastructure 
  • 5+ years’ experience with coaching/mentoring other infrastructure engineers with Microsoft optimization and automation technologies 
  • 5+ years’ experience with PowerShell automation toolsets and methodologies
  • 5+ years’ experience with Microsoft operating systems and server technologies.  
  • 5+ years’ experience with Microsoft web infrastructure design, optimization, sizing, troubleshooting and performance tuning. 
  • Knowledge of data privacy and protection initiatives
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expert level experience with Microsoft Win10 and Win11.
  • Experience working on development projects utilizing agile development techniques 
  • Experience working with stakeholders to gather and document stakeholder requirements 
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Administration 
  • Experience with Windows Servers 
  • Experience working with Windows O365 
  • Experience with automated unit testing Microsoft Distributed File System (DFS) 
  • Experience with SCCM, Active Directory, VDI, and Intune 
  • Experience working for a governmental agency 
  • Take charge, can-do attitude 
  • Facilitation skill
