Microbiology Technician

Schedule : On-site Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm
Length of assignment: Until the end of the year likely to extend through 2025
Pay: $22 an hour 

Responsibilities

• Preparation of microbiological media utilizing aseptic technique and good documentation practices.
• Environmental monitoring of laboratories and temperature-controlled chambers
• Culturing of micro-organisms used for microbiological assays
• Conducting antimicrobial effectiveness testing of vision care products
• Gram stain and identification of micro-organisms Ability to understand and follow SOPs Experience using advanced features of Excel and Word
• This is an active job that requires the candidate to be working at the lab bench for most of the day. The candidate must be able to routinely lift 40lbs.

Requirements:

• BS Life Sciences (Biology/Microbiology/Biotechnology, etc.) required. Equivalent experience through specialized training (relevant on the job training or certificate) may be considered.
• Experience in a GMP/GLP environment required.
• Ability to communicate and work well with others; good oral and written skills.
• Minimum of 0-3 years' experience in a related field preferred
• Computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite
