As a Mortgage Underwriting Scenario Specialist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring clients' loan journeys are smooth and successful. You'll be part of a team that values innovation and collaboration, where your expertise will help guide loans to completion. Your day-to-day will involve managing the under contract process, providing scenario support, and handling underwriting escalations. We’re looking for someone passionate about the mortgage industry who thinks creatively to solve challenges and is eager to contribute to a supportive and dynamic team. Join us, and you'll be empowered to grow both personally and professionally, backed by a leadership team that’s second to none. We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, all within an environment that promotes career growth and values employee contributions. At CrossCountry Mortgage, your career path is as promising as the future of homeownership we help create. Ready to make an impact? We’d love to hear from you. Responsibilities:

  • Provide recommendations for new and revised procedures to increase efficiencies and/or decrease errors.
  • Respond to escalated issues that cannot be resolved by teammates; assist with complex loans, provide support on scenarios/pre-qualifications when needed, etc.
  • Oversee achievement of standards, risk management, quality control, and adherence to policy and procedure.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and changing regulations and guidelines related to the field of expertise; make recommendations for changes to policy, practice, and process accordingly.
  • Manage the Under Contract Process.
Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a lead position preferred.
  • An active state-specific NMLS license is required.
  • Expert-level knowledge of the mortgage business, including overall mortgage lending processes and internal controls, as well as federal, state, and regulatory requirements/guidelines; valid documentation related to processing mortgage applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities; strong detail orientation and highly organized.
