Job Title:  Role: Nuclear Medicine Physician
Duty Hours: Daily from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (rotating schedule)

  • Option Year 1: 03/01/2026 – 03/31/2027
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Board-Certified Nuclear Medicine Physician to provide specialized diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine services at our Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration and interpretation of nuclear medicine procedures, including PET/CT scans, SPECT imaging, and the administration of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals . This role requires strong expertise in nuclear imaging and compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and interpret nuclear medicine imaging studies , including:
    • Positron Emission Tomography – Computed Tomography (PET/CT)
    • Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT)
    • General nuclear medicine imaging procedures
    • Cardiac, endocrine, oncologic, and musculoskeletal nuclear medicine studies
  • Oversee the administration of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals , ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, oncologists, cardiologists, and other healthcare providers to integrate nuclear medicine studies into comprehensive patient care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards , and nuclear regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation of procedures, results, and patient interactions in the hospital's medical records system.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs , safety initiatives, and multidisciplinary meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Board Certification:
    • Must be board certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) with a subspecialty in Nuclear Medicine OR
    • Board certified by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine (ABNM) .
  • Licensure:
    • Must hold an active, unrestricted medical license in any state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia .
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Must comply with all hospital policies and JCAHO requirements .
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise in theranostics , including Lutetium-177 (Lu-177), Actinium-225 (Ac-225), and Iodine-131 (I-131) therapy .
  • Experience with nuclear cardiology and PET/MRI imaging .
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Prior experience working in academic medical centers or research hospitals .
