About the painter position:

We’re looking for a talented painter who will be responsible for painting the interior and exterior areas of the property. This position is also responsible for ensuring apartments are painted and ready for move-in and assisting the maintenance team with service requests.

  • Schedule, monitor, and perform work orders, as needed, such as painting
  • Wall repair and preparation, spackle
  • Ability to identify appropriate materials for each surface to be painted
  • Paint the interiors and exteriors of apartments according to company guidelines
  • Perform property inspections to ensure the grounds are clean as well as to identify any problems
  • Respond to on-call pager when scheduled and perform emergency maintenance to items that need to be repaired
  • Ensure all work area supplies are net, clean, and orderly after painting or when work orders have otherwise been completed
  • Comply with all policies, practices, and applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of one year of previous painting and/or make-ready experience (or that of a similar function) is preferred

Skills and Requirements:

  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • Ability to use paint sprayer, roller, brush, paint pad, etc.
  • Adhere to all OHSA guidelines
  • Ability to use general office equipment, such as telephone, fax machine, printer, copier, and key track system
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
  • Ability to cope with and defuse situations involving angry or difficult people
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and comply with the prescribed uniform policy
  • May be required to possess a valid driver’s license if required to drive
  • Musty comply with all safety requirements
  • Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing and Preventing Discrimination and Harassment training and other courses, if assigned
