Ace Hardware - Sales Associate - Garden Opportunity

Ace Hardware, your friendly local hardware store, is looking for a highly skilled and motivated full-time Sales Associate to join our Garden Center team. As a Sales Associate - Garden, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a well-stocked, organized, and welcoming Garden Center. Join us in creating a delightful and fun shopping experience for our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Problem-solve customer and product concerns
• Enforce safety policies and procedures
• Assist in training associates and providing expert advice on plants and gardening products
• Assists with the care and maintenance of live goods through properly organized, priced, and stocked plants and varieties in the Garden Center.
• Assist with maintenance of the Garden area by cleaning, raking, weeding, and keeping it tidy and shoppable.
• Assist with inventory management and seasonal transitions
• Procure and merchandise plant products
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 6 months to 1 year of retail experience
• Proficient in computer systems
• Strong initiative, responsibility, and execution skills
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
• Bilingual (Spanish) skills preferred
• Possess a valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record, in accordance with the company’s insurance standards. This applies if the store manager determines the sales associate is able to drive company vehicles for customer deliveries and/or drive the forklift after adequate training.
• Flexibility with scheduling, including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the store. 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods, as well as frequent walking, reaching, and bending to perform job duties.
• Move and handle merchandise up to 50 pounds.
• Adjust fixtures throughout the store, which entails assembling, lifting and displaying.
