Senior Business & Systems Analyst

BASIC FUNCTION:

Unison Systems is looking for a Senior Business & Systems Analyst with FinTech experience for our national financial client who services the agriculture industry. The Senior Business & Systems Analyst will work within an Agile team to assess near term needs, issues, and understand the strategic goals of the association. In addition, the role will be responsible for understanding, developing, troubleshooting, supporting and maintaining enterprise applications. This position will perform system administration duties for assigned configurable enterprise systems. The candidate must be flexible, adaptable, responsive, creative, innovative, and work well in a team environment. A Senior Business & Systems Analyst will often facilitate discussions with Subject Matter Experts in order to detail out user stories that may identify new functionality, changes to systems and/or new or changing Business processes, and then align those needs with appropriate technology solutions with the goal of improving process efficiency and accuracy.

The senior analyst will assist with the integration of new and upgraded products and unit testing solutions. It is expected that this individual be familiar with a variety of programming languages, operating systems, and computer hardware platforms.

In some instances, this position may act as a product owner in proxy. In addition, this individual may be called upon to assist with the planning and development of release notes, user guides and training materials in order to ensure adoption.

This will be a 12+ month contract opportunity fully remote.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Work with the team and the Product Owner in the grooming of the team’s backlog
• Work with team members, Product Owner(s) and/or Subject Matter Experts in order to break down and detail user stories with detailed business & system requirements; including testable acceptance criteria (this includes creating any applicable supporting documentation such as data mapping documentation, use cases, etc.)
• Gather and analyze information from multiple sources and provide recommendations to address and resolve business issues
• Responsible for the creation of and maintenance of Business process flows related to the function of the assigned agile team
• Provide technical support related to system integration and data migration activities
• Coordination of Business Validation testing efforts for larger implementation efforts
• Perform ongoing system administration duties for assigned, configurable enterprise systems
• Assist with the responsibilities of Business & Technical Data Stewardship
• Collaborate with other team members and 3rd party vendors relating to software upgrades, patches and configuration deployment
• Complete Business Use Case Analyses and aid in researching possible solutions
• Lead or assist in Request for Information and/or Request for Proposal activities to identify and select the best software solution and vendor to address identified business needs
• Performs other functions as assigned

LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:

• Exercises no supervision; regularly provides technical guidance and training; makes independent decisions; works under general direction.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• At least five years of related experience with demonstrated proficiency across multiple business domains gathering functional and non-functional requirements/specifications, creating business and system process flow documentation, preparing design documentation, and configuring applications
• Advanced knowledge of the Business and Systems Analysis roles, responsibilities, activities and the System Development Life-cycle methodologies
• Advanced knowledge of typical programming languages is desirable
• Experience with Business Process Modeling (BPMN)
• Working knowledge of Enterprise Architecture tools
• Strong knowledge of database concepts and proficiency with MS SQL and Oracle databases
• IIBA CBAP desired
• Fluency in Agile principles
• Thorough knowledge of data analysis software
• Thorough knowledge of presentation software such as MS PowerPoint and Visio required
• Knowledge of Compliance Audit requirements
• Familiarity with industry best practices in the areas of data integrity controls and testing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills including strong meeting facilitation, verbal, written skills
• Travel required in performance of job
