Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center – Opening in 2025!

When open in early 2025, Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health will be the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years! This teaching hospital will integrate clinical care with existing providers, The George Washington University Hospital, and the Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This clinical integration will establish a robust system of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community.

This full-service hospital will include 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for physician offices, clinics, a community space, a 500-car garage and a helipad for emergency transports.

Education Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent. 

Skills & Experience:

• No experience required, completion of formal training in the field is preferred. 
• Proficient in spoken and written English. 
• Demonstrated communication, organization and critical thinking skills.
• Experience with various applications related to Instrument management (Censis, OneSource) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
• Demonstrates adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) attire and use of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) information regarding chemicals and regulatory agenc
• Learns and understands instrument and equipment IFU's and keeping current with changes and new instruments. 
• Obtains and meets productivity measurements. 
• Performs reprocessing cycle of instrument management: including decontamination, assembly, preparation and packaging for sterilization, sterilization, and storage. 
• Operates complex machinery such as ultrsonic cleaners, washers/disinfectors, steam sterilizers, low temperature sterilizers and biological incubators. 
• Utilizes various IT systems such as OneSource and Censis. 
• Cares for instruments after sterilization/high-level disinfection including interpretation of results and storage of instrumentsKeeps accurate regulatory records including Censis entries and paper records.
• Performs quality assurance checks in the department including sterilizers, washers, ultrasonics, and high-level disinfectant equipment. 

License / Certification:

• Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through the International Association of Healthcare Central Sterile Material Management (IAHCSMM) is required to be obtained within 12 months of hiring.
