Overview of the role
- The Banquet Server will be responsible for the flawless delivery of all banquet events to ensure exceptional service to all guests. You will be involved in all aspects of banquet deliver to include greeting guests, serving the guest, and set up and break down of event areas. The Banquet Server will do this in a manner and practice that is consistent and in accordance with Autograph and Tribute Collection standard under the franchise of Mainsail.
What you have - Previous hospitality and/or banquet serving experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to use technology to include computers, tablets, POS, and iPads
- Excellent communications skills, in both written and spoken form
- Working knowledge of food and beverages
- Knowledge of local laws in regard to serving and consumption of alcohol
- High School Diploma or higher
What you'll do - Set up functions in the banquet space to include other areas within the hotel as indicated in the Banquet Event Order
- Serve meals to the guest in a professional and hospitable manner, ensuring the meals are delivered to the correct recipient with allergies and specific meal requests in mind
- Set up for banquet functions to include placement of dishes, silverware, glasses, chafers, serving ware, linens, various décor, and condiments
- Pre-set tables to include (but not limited to) water, menus, and salads
- Handle and maintain station or station areas during banquet period, and inform supervisor of any changes or needs to not negatively impact guest experience
- Serve alcoholic beverage to guests while following local laws regarding alcohol consumption and checking validity of age
- Bus tables and station area quickly and quietly
- Clean up and break down function area upon end time; to include clearing of tables and banquet space, removal of food receptacles, and removal of linen and décor.
- Other necessary duties as assigned by reasonably assigned
