Job Description
Legacy music venue seeks experienced Venue Coordinator to work closely with the owner/GM on day-to-day operations including facilities, food and beverage, ticketing, music production, club promotion/marketing, overseeing staff, and more at two primary adjacent venues. Operations can also include promoting /executing events at additional external venue sites.
The right candidate has a passion for the music industry and is able to direct staff in a fast-paced environment, maintaining the objective of consistently providing a high quality experience for concert goers, performers and their crews.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee all day-to-day needs of both venues efficiently and effectively, including some operations and systems upgrades, training of staff, and managing general facility operations
- Settle with artists/tour managers after each show, or ensure the coordinator on duty does the same
- Assist in club talent buying as needed
- Act as liaison with the head of security for scheduling/management and show-by-show needs
- Conduct co-management of the bar staff with the bar coordinator
- Oversee & assist with all permit applications, renewals, and certifications
- Maintain all local, federal and state workplace compliance requirements
- Act as liaison to local City and County municipal entities such as fire department, police, health dept., nonprofits and community constituencies
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives such as private events and an internship program
- Work closely with the staff to develop smarter ways of working and create a cooperative and productive work environment
- Ongoing: Evaluate and measure success of initiatives and progress towards goals
Qualifications & Key Skills Needed:
- At least 2-3 years’ experience in live music or entertainment industry
- Quick learner who will work with staff to carry out objectives of the business
- Able to work independently, take initiative, self-motivate, and follow through consistently
- Able to multitask and assess/refresh priorities in a high paced event environment
- Flexible and creative problem-solver, able to adapt and improvise when and where needed
- *Serious eye for detail, with ability to solve operational challenges quickly and effectively
- Reliable team member
- Strategic and practical planning ability, and ability to effectively execute plans are a must
- Should have ability to evaluate goals/objectives and make adjustments as needed
- Fostering positive interactions with, and among, staff. Able to identify and make excellent hires based on company's needs
- Appreciation of constantly evolving music industry expectations and timelines and how these relate to our event planning, promotions and production
